Sale Price: $99.00 Original Price: $175.00

Equity is often named as a priority, but it’s not always clear how to make it part of everyday decisions, strategies, and evaluations. Without practical approaches, even well-intentioned efforts can fall short; This leaves gaps in impact and voices unheard.

This training creates space to move beyond statements of commitment into methods that can be applied in real contexts. Together, we’ll explore tools and frameworks that help organizations:

  • Design programs and policies with equity at the center.

  • Evaluate outcomes in ways that reflect community realities.

  • Build habits that make equity part of ongoing practice, not a one-time initiative.

For organizations committed to meaningful, lasting change, equity-centered approaches are essential. This session is about grounding that work in practical strategies that align with both values and impact.

What you’ll learn

  • Apply an equity-centered framework to real policy, program, and research choices

  • Craft equity-aligned evaluation questions, indicators, and data collection plans

  • Map stakeholders and power dynamics to design more inclusive processes

  • Build organizational habits that sustain equity beyond one project.

  • Use practical checklists and templates to sustain equity as an organizational habit

Who it’s for

This training is designed for professionals who already have some experience working with equity concepts and want to deepen their skills. You don’t need to be an expert, just ready to move beyond the basics.

  • Nonprofit leaders and program directors who want to embed equity into program design and evaluation.

  • Policy advisors and government staff looking for practical frameworks to guide inclusive decision-making.

  • Foundation and philanthropy professionals seeking ways to assess equity impact in funding strategies.

  • Researchers and evaluators who want tools to better center community voices and justice in their work

If you have attended introductory DEI workshops, read about equity frameworks, or worked on equity-focused projects, this training will give you the next step: translating knowledge into practice.

Training Focus

Pillars of Equity-Centered Research

Get a clear view of the four pillars—Design, Engagement, Impact, and Communication—and how they work together to move equity from intention to everyday practice. We’ll map the model briefly, then focus on Design and Impact with concise examples and tools you can apply to current projects

Inclusive Research Design & Community Engagement

Learn how to design studies and engagement processes that reflect community realities. We’ll cover representative sampling, centering lived experience, and bias-aware methods; walk through a participation continuum (inform → consult → co-create); contrast extractive vs participatory approaches; and use a practical Community Engagement Checklist to adapt one of your current projects in-session.

Equity Impact Assessments

Translate equity commitments into clear decision criteria. We’ll introduce a four-step EIA—define scope, identify impacted populations, anticipate benefits and burdens, plan mitigation—and show where it fits in the policy/program pipeline. Then you’ll use a live worksheet to apply the steps to one of your current projects.
